SALT LAKE CITY -- Drivers planning to use 3300 South this weekend will run into some road blocks.

UTA crews will perform bridge work on the FrontRunner Provo to Salt Lake commuter rail project on Saturday and Sunday. That means road closures and lane restrictions just west of Interstate 15 in South Salt Lake.

The westbound lanes on 3300 South will be closed to traffic between 400 West and 500 West.

The I-15 onramp will not be affected, but motorists exiting the freeway will only be able to go eastbound.

The new FrontRunner commuter rail line will run 45 miles from downtown Provo to Salt Lake City where it will connect to the existing FrontRunner line at Salt Lake Central Station. It will feature six new stations in Murray, South Jordan, Lehi, American Fork, Orem and Provo.
