SALT LAKE COUNTY -- An alert neighbor may have saved an Olympus Cove home from more serious damage due to a fire.
The neighbor was walking by Monday around 8:20 p.m. when he noticed the garage of a home near 3700 East and 3900 South engulfed in flames.
He called 911 and forced his way into the home to make sure no one was inside. No one was, and fire crews were able to douse the fire before the flames spread.
The fire caused about $75,000 damage to the garage.
No word yet on what caused it.
