NORTH LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- North Logan city leaders are planning for the future and dreaming big.
Last week they unveiled plans for a new 22,000-square foot municipal center. The city hopes to complete the project by 2014. The structure will be an extension of the existing North Logan library.
Plans for the two-level facility include a 1500-square-foot council chamber, courtroom, outdoor patio and two large multipurpose rooms.
An 8,400-square-foot lower level will house the North Park Police Department, including interview rooms, a sally port, detectives' offices and evidence room.
Mayor Cary Watkins says the city has begun banking construction funds for the project. He says the hope is to build a facility that accommodates city needs for the next 20 to 30 years.
