Randall Jeppesen reporting American Fork High School has called off a parent-teacher meeting that would have addressed porn and same-sex attraction.
American Fork Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) President Belinda Jensen says she wanted to help parents who had kids with serious social problems. So the meeting was going to address pornography and same sex attraction, which she says is a growing problem in Utah schools. "Mainly because of the deadly disease of AIDS that we'd like to protect our youth from, and also the lifestyle that leads to drug abuse and suicide," she explained.
Gay right groups were upset by the meeting and were planning on attending to offer a differing view.
But now the school district has canceled the meeting, saying the school's principal wasn't aware of what was going to be discussed.
