MAPLETON, Utah — Mapleton residents have been encouraged by city officials to continue following the boil order advisory as more testing is completed. The boil order was issued Thursday after Total Coliform and E. Coli bacteria was detected in the water system. Just before noon Saturday, officials said test results from eight samples, which were collected Friday, came back free of Coliform and E. Coli bacteria. An additional nine samples were taken from around the city Saturday. Officials said it takes 24 hours for the lab to process them, adding that they were collecting two sets of samples one day apart to ensure the water is safe to drink. They anticipated results from the lab would be provided Sunday morning. https://twitter.com/mapletoncity/status/1406317946805264389 The Mapleton City Fire Department gave out gallons of emergency drinking water to residents Saturday in front of the Mapleton City Fire Station, located at 305 North Main Street. Crews asked that one gallon be taken per person per day while the boil order remains in effect.
