BOUNTIFUL — Police are asking the public for help identifying two individuals who broke into a Bountiful home, snapped pictures inside and then stole a set of keys.
The intruders only spent five to 10 minutes inside the house Wednesday, which is under construction on the Bountiful bench, but they were caught on surveillance video.
“This is where they came in, that broken (basement) window right there,” said homeowner Brent Blundell.
Once inside, the prowlers walked around and took a lot of pictures. “They had their cellphones, and the girl had a camera,” Blundell said.
The pair also examined items in the home, “picking up a drill and putting it back down, picking it up and putting it down,” Blundell said.
However, the only thing they took was a set of keys. Luckily the keys don’t fit the house locks, Blundell said, but he and his wife believe it could be an indication that the couple plans to return.
“There are a lot of tools. A lot of them are heavy, would take four or five guys to take some of them out. There’s a table saw,” Blundell explained.
The Blundells and Bountiful police shared images of the intruders on Facebook, hoping someone can help identify them.
Anyone with information should contact the Bountiful Police Department at 801-298-6000 or message them through their Facebook page.
