OGDEN — Standard-Examiner employees evacuated their newsroom and offices after a fire, fire officials say.

At 11:56 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to 332 Standard Way on reports of a structure fire. Occupants of the building had already evacuated after the fire alarm system notified them of the fire, Ogden City Fire Department reported. The sprinklers helped firefighters contain the fire.

The fire began in the recyling room, causing some damage officials said. Smoke damaged the entire north bay of the building. Damages were estimated at about $15,000.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. One patient was treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, officials said.

Ogden fire had not released a cause of fire. Employees returned to the building.
