DRAPER — An elderly man is in critical condition after being hit by a car while riding a moped in Draper Tuesday morning, police said.

The 70-year-old man was struck by a female driver who was turning left out of a parking lot to head south on Lonepeak Parkway near 11900 South, police said. Police dispatch received a call notifying them of the accident around 9:53 a.m.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to police.
