SALT LAKE CITY — Crews are expected to contain two more wildfires later today.
Crews say the 4,300-acre Rhyolite Fire in western Box Elder County and the Flood Canyon Fire in Tooele County will be 100 percent contained by the end of the day.
Over the weekend crews got the Baboon Fire in Beaver County under control. About 60 firefighters will continue to watch it to make sure the flames don't jump the fire lines.
That blaze burned more than 19,000 acres but is now 100 percent contained.
Nearly a dozen fires are still burning in Utah. Cooler temperatures and thunderstorms this weekend helped firefighters around the state gain ground on many of them.
The Flood Fire in Tooele County is still burning but firefighters have a firm handle on it. It's consumed around 720 acres.
The Clay Springs Fire remains the biggest in the state at nearly 108,000 acres. But wet weather helped fire crews get the upper hand on it as well.
The Dizzy Rock Fire, North Lucky 7 Fire, and Red Butte Fire are all 100 percent contained today.
