DRAPER — A 10-year-old child suffered serious injuries and four others were also hospitalized after a head-on collision Wednesday evening, police said.
Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash near 750 E. Traverse Ridge Road shortly after 5:50 p.m., according to Draper police Sgt. Chad Carpenter.
Carpenter said the two vehicles were traveling in their respective lanes when a Mini Cooper drifted over the center line of the road and struck a minivan head-on.
Carpenter said there were five individuals in the two vehicles involved, including two adults and three children ages 10, 9 and 6 years old. The 10-year-old was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in "very serious condition," he said.
The four others were transported to Intermountain Medical Center with various injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, he said.
