(KSL News) It's the end of an era in Ogden. After 98 years, Central Middle School is closing.
The school on 2563 Monroe Boulevard used to be Central High School. When it became Central Middle School in the 1920s, it became the first junior high in the nation.

District officials decided to close the school to consolidate students and save money. The building will now be used as an elementary school.
