SPANISH FORK — A vehicle carrying two adults and three children rolled in Spanish Fork Canyon on Sunday, critically injuring the two adults.
The Utah Highway Patrol had already received reports of a 2011 Jeep Liberty driving recklessly down state Route 6 and drifting from the shoulder to over the double yellow lines, when the vehicle drifted off the pavement near the Diamond Fork turnoff, according to the UHP.
"The driver, Kimberly Worthen, 24, of Layton, drifted off the right side of the pavement. She over-corrected to the left and lost control," according to a statement from the UHP.
The vehicle rolled across the pavement and off the left side of the roadway, down a 300 foot embankment.
Worthen and the male passenger, Nick Swann, 36, of Lehi, were taken by medical helicopters to a local hospital. The three children, ages 9, 11, and 14, were transported to a local hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, according to the UHP.
The investigation into the crash continued Sunday evening.
