US Drug Watchdog Now Urges Recipients of a DePuy Pinnacle All Metal
Hip Implant to Call Them About Why an MRI Might Be the Best Way to
Detect a Premature Failure
WASHINGTON, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The US Drug Watchdog says,
"We fear tens of thousands of DePuy Pinnacle all metal hip implant
recipients could get left holding the bag for costly replacement
surgery, if they do not get proactive and make certain their all metal
hip implant is not showing signs of a premature failure. As we would
like to explain with one call to 866-714-6466 we now believe an MRI
might be the best way to detect issues with this specific type of all
metal hip implant." http://USDrugWatchdog.Com

The US Drug Watchdog says, "According to court records about 140,000
US citizens are recipients of the DePuy Pinnacle all metal hip
implant. Some relatively new information revealed last May indicates
that a MRI examination may determine a premature failure of an all
metal hip implant long before the recipient is aware of physical
symptoms. We think this is extremely important information all
recipients of a all metal hip implant should be aware of."
According to a May 2013 article in Science Daily, "Metal-on-metal hip
implants can cause inflammation of the joint lining long before
symptoms appear, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be used to
identify this inflammation."
The US Drug Watchdog indicates physical symptoms of a DePuy Pinnacle
metal on metal hip implant failure may include:
-- Pain in the Hip Region
-- Problems While Walking or the Inability to Walk
-- Swelling of the Hip
-- General Discomfort
-- Lack of Flexibility
-- Elevated levels of cobalt, or chromium in the hip implant
recipient's blood.
The US Drug Watchdog says, "We fear tens of thousands of people who
received a DePuy Pinnacle all metal hip implant will never get
compensated, if their hip implant prematurely failed, because they
were not aware of national litigation involving premature failure
issues, or they did not want to go through a hip implant replacement
surgery, also called a revision surgery. As a result of this they
could miss out on getting what could be several hundred thousand
dollars in compensation, if this specific type of hip implant device
has failed. This is why we are trying so hard now to get out the word
to all recipients of the DePuy Pinnacle all metal hip implant - get an
MRI test done to make certain there is no tissue inflammation."
