BRIGHTON, Mich. (AP) — The University of Michigan Health System has announced plans to build a medical care center about 20 miles north of campus.
The Ann Arbor school's Board of Regents on Thursday approved the $175 million project to build a primary and specialty care center in Brighton. The 320,000-square-foot center will join three other university health centers in the area.
University officials say the new center is expected to offer about 40 medical services and include exam and operating rooms, a pharmacy, ophthalmology, radiology, diagnostic imaging and cancer care services.
Officials said a construction schedule will be set once design plans have been approved. The center is expected to employ about 375 people.
