BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise School District will spend nearly $200,000 on tests this year to supplement Idaho's new statewide achievement test. The Idaho Statesman reports that the district is administering 20-minute multiple choice tests in math and reading in grades three through 10 to see how students compare to the Common Core State Standards.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities will not file charges against the Canyon County deputy who shot and killed a man after responding to a domestic disturbance earlier this year. Idaho Attorney General's Office announced it will not charge Canyon County Deputy Chad Bingham in the shooting of 31-year-old Brandon Rapp.
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Officials say container traffic at the Port of Lewiston in northern Idaho will resume after being suspended for nearly six months. The Lewiston Tribune reports that port officials say the Northwest Container Services and transport company Tidewater will begin using a new route in December.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A southwestern Idaho man has been sentenced to at least 16 years in prison for abusing two children. KIVI-TV reports that a judge sentenced 31-year-old Bryce Transue of Caldwell on Tuesday and ordered him to register as a sex offender. The girls were ages 6 and 11.
