(KSL News) Provo's water department says a prank led to a big mess, and the city is offer a reward to find who did it.
Last Friday a line backup put water and raw sewage into more than a dozen homes in Provo. It was throught a dead dog stuffed into the system caused the backup.
This weekend, a public works official found the problem. Someone had rolled a manhole cover down a hill near the neighborhood. He says the manhole was unprotected and the dog could have fallen in.
City leaders are offering a $2,500 reward for information about the incident. And they're working with homeowners, saying they will help pay for some of the damages.
