ST. GEORGE -- A man was arrested after St. George police say pictures turned up showing him sexually abusing his own infant son. Even worse, investigators believe the child's mother snapped the photos.

The photos turned up at a Walgreens, and technicians notified detectives after developing the pictures.

"The pictures show that the person involved was an adult male -- Mr. Sergio Diaz-Palomino -- and the victim was an infant male," said St. George police Lt. James Van Fleet.

Police booked Diaz-Palomino on four charges. Officers are now trying to track down the child and the mother.

"It's to determine what level of culpability the mother had in developing the photos," Van Fleet said. "What was the intent -- was it to manufacture child pornography? We want to be able to interview her."

Investigators also want to check on the welfare of the baby boy.

"It's disheartening that this occurred," Van Fleet said. "We are doing everything in our power to correct the action after unfortunately it already occurred."
