(KSL News) At least four people, including two children, were forced out of their homes this morning by a fire at their four-plex.
The fire started early this morning in one of the upper apartments at 3175 S. 400 East.
When the first firefighters arrived flames had engulfed the apartment.
Batt. Chief Blaine Daimaru/ South Salt Lake Fire Dept.: "When the first engine arrived on the scene, they had flames coming out the front door and window, the front window of the complex."
Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames, keeping most of the damage to the one apartment, which is considered a total loss.
Three other agencies assisted on the fire.
Investigators are now on the scene trying to determine the cause.
