(KSL News) -- Volunteers "painted their hearts out" on the west side today.

Twenty teams of painters tackled the homes of seniors unable to do the job themselves.

The effort was organized by the Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services and came not a moment too soon for some residents.

Lois, Homeowner: "I’m sure my neighbors are all delighted because my shabby house was making their look bad -- and now its going to look great"

The volunteer painters have taken to the streets for the past fourteen years. They have painted more than four hundred houses.
