WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man has been found guilty of three driving infractions in the death of a 76-year-old man who was killed last year after being hit by a car.
Gabi Idowu, also known as Babtunde Idowu, was found guilty of failure to signal, failure to maintain control of his car and weaving at a bench trial Monday.
Charges of negligent collision and improper lookout, both infractions, were dismissed.
Idowu was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
In August an automobile homicide charge was dismissed against the 24-year-old Idowu. Blood tests and retests from Utah and out-of-state labs came back negative for a depressant that could have impaired Idowu's driving.
Idowu had spent three months in jail after he allegedly drove off a West Valley City road, hitting and killing Kenneth Christensen at a bus stop on May 27, 2009. Christensen was sitting in his motorized wheelchair.
