PARK CITY -- There are 17 days to opening ceremonies for the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and half of the just-named, 18-member U.S. Olympic freestyle team represented the red, white and blue for Tuesday's press event at Deer Valley.

"You go as hard as you can and go as fast as you can and as big as you can for 20 seconds," said freestyle moguls athlete Bryon Willson.

"Speedy" Peterson, who is competing in his second Olympic games, explained, "We're the crazy ones doing the flips and the twists. The only way I'll really feel it's a success is if I walk out of there with a gold medal."

Most of this U.S. Olympic freestyle team calls Park City home, at least part time for training. But two of them are native Utahns who will share their first Olympic experience with friends, family and the entire state of Utah.

"[I'm a] normal girl doing my thing, so it's fun to have a little attention for once." said Draper native Lacy Schnoor. "But it's great to have the support from Alta and the whole state of Utah."

Despite a serious splash at Deer Valley, Park City's Nate Roberts held on to finally claim his coveted spot on team USA.

"This is a dream come true! What an emotional rollercoaster I've been on," Roberts said. "I'm definitely grateful to have the best fan base and support group out there. I just hope I'm going to go there and make everybody proud."

The real fun's less than three weeks away.
