(KSL News) -- Several people were evacuated from a Midvale neighborhood this afternoon.

Someone noticed what looked to be a suspicious package at an apartment complex and called police. It was a box filled with wooden dowels with dynamite paper wrapped around it and wires sticking out.

The box was found in the apartment of a man moving out. To be safe, people in the immediate area were evacuated and 7200 south was closed between 4th east and 7th east.

A bomb squad determined the package was not a threat. Apparently it was some sort of gift from the man's father. Residents were allowed back in their homes and the road reopened shortly after.
