PROVO -- A Utah County woman had a pretty interesting commute on the way to the hospital. The baby she was going to deliver decided he didn't want to wait.

While driving from the small town of Wales to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Summerlyn Brady's contractions went from moderate to "Oh, my gosh!" near the Spanish Fork exit.

"I just knew and told my friend, ‘You've got to find somewhere to pull over. We've got to hurry,'" she said.

When they got to University Avenue, Brady and her friend just happened to see Provo Police Patrolman Devon Jensen and flagged him down.

"I have an 8-month-old, so I recently went through the whole deal," Jensen said.

Within just a few minutes, out came little Jayden Karl, right by the freeway. Brady says the whole process from her first contractions to delivery took about two hours, which is fast for her.

"This is my fifth child, and my quickest labor and delivery [until now] was 15 hours," she said.

Jayden is in the Newborn ICU for observation, but he's expected to be just fine.
