SALT LAKE CITY -- An argument over food and finances took a violent turn Tuesday morning in Salt Lake City.
Police were called to an apartment building near 500 South and 500 East after a mother and daughter began arguing over steaks.

Salt Lake City police Lt. Craig Gleason said, "Both sides say they bought the steaks. There was some anger about who ate the steaks, and that seemed to be the ignition point."
It escalated when friends and other family members got involved. One man was stabbed in the back with a steak knife and was taken to the hospital.
Police arrested another man for aggravated assault.
