(KSL News) Governor Huntsman has been on the road for a few days in Washington, D.C., for a meeting of the National Governor's Association.
The governors focused on America's need to innovate in order to strengthen our competitive edge in a global market.
Governor Huntsman used the forum to talk about the legislature's decision to implement all-day kindergarten in Utah. He says it's important to lay a strong foundation for students early.

Governor Jon Huntsman: "And if we can ensure by third grade those pillars of literacy are nailed--in literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, reading comprehension--we give our kids the best gift possible."
The governor returns tomorrow night.
