LEHI, Utah (AP) -- Food, Ferris wheels and farm animals, it's all part of the fair fun. But so was fewer families at this year's Utah County fair.
Eight percent fewer people attended this year's fair at Thanksgiving Point than last year, which takes place during the last week of July.
Thanksgiving Point spokesman Todd Maurer says this year more than 28-thousand people strolled around the fair during the four-day event, compared to 31-thousand last year.
Maurer says on the first night of the fair, ten-thousand fewer people walked through the entrance gates than last year.
However, this year's fair did have more people during the remaining three days, as well as more Four-H Club exhibits, livestock entries and vendors.
Thanksgiving Point is in the fourth year of a five-year contract with Utah County to host the fair.
