Whit Johnson Reporting A registered sex offender is behind bars again. He was caught on surveillance tape, escorting a young girl into a restroom at Salt Lake Community College. What authorities say he attempted to do next is a frightening story.

Michael Joseph Bradley first popped up on our KSL radar back in November during an I-Team investigation. After this latest incident we did some more digging through court documents and found a dangerous pattern of sexual assaults.

An undercover camera gives us a glimpse inside the apartment complex of Michael Joseph Bradley.

Video from Eyewitness News Investigation, November 2006: "There's one upstairs, there's one down stairs."

He was one of nine sex offenders living in the same Salt Lake City building.

Jayson McCleve, Utah Highway Patrol: "The initial call was a couple of kids were screaming that they were in trouble."

After years of prison time and intensive treatment, it appears Bradley never fully recovered. Authorities say yesterday he started talking to a 10-year-old girl and her friend in a public computer room at Salt Lake Community College. What happened next was caught on surveillance tape.

Sgt. Phil Waters, Utah Highway Patrol: "You see the suspect enter the hallway with the minor girl and the juvenile boy, go up and down the hallway and stop at the restrooms."

Bradley followed the girl inside the women's restroom. She claims he groped her before she yelled for help.

Jayson McCleve, Utah Highway Patrol: "Her screaming is what stopped this attack."

Bradley took off running but authorities found him just four hours later.

Jayson McCleve, Utah Highway Patrol: "The fact that he went into the bathroom, that part right there scares me enough."

Bradley says it's a misunderstanding, but his track record may suggest otherwise. In the '80s he was convicted of several sexual offenses. Then, starting in 1995, he spent nine years in Utah state prison for a forceful sexual act with a young boy at a Trolley Square parking lot. The circumstances were similar to the incident yesterday, but when the boy screamed for help, the act had been completed.

Bradley is on his way back to prison. Authorities say the fact he was even in contact with these children is in clear violation of his parole. He's also facing several other felony charges.
