(Salt Lake City-AP) -- It was supposed to be a quiet Christmas at home for JoLynn and Bart Smith in Lehi yesterday.
It didn't quite work out that way, as their baby Gabriel arrived a little early.
The couple didn't even make it to the hospital, as the Christmas baby was delivered by his father at an intersection in Draper.
Bart is a police officer who has emergency medical training, and the six-pound, four-ounce Christmas surprise was born healthy.
The baby, the couple's second child, wasn't due until mid-January.
