(West Valley City-AP) -- A West Valley City police officer awoke to gunfire the other day and found that someone had shot up his house.
No one was injured in the shooting, which happened early yesterday.
The officer, whose name was not being released, told investigators that he searched the neighborhood after the shots were fired, but whoever fired them was long gone.
Bullets hit the side and foundation of the brick home.
West Valley investigators say they are now trying to determine whether the officer and his family were the intended targets, or if it may have been some sort of accident. They're also searching for witnesses.
