(Salt Lake City-- KSL TV) One man is in custody this morning after allegedly robbing an Ogden gas station and taking one of the employees hostage. The incident happened shortly after midnight last night.

A woman working at a Tesoro gas station at 40th Street and Adams, reported that the station had been robbed and her co-worker kidnapped at gunpoint.

The suspect had tied up the second employee and placed her in a shed on the property, but she was able to escape and called police.

After receiving a description of the suspect vehicle police were able to locate the car behind a nearby business with the suspect and woman inside.

Chief Val Shupe of the Ogden Police says, "At that time the suspect fled the car, as he ran west."

Police began searching the area and eventually spotted the suspect walking along a stretch of Riverdale Road.

He was taken into custody after being positively identified. Police will investigate any harm done to the two victims before formal charges are filed.
