Bruce and Deanie--throughout his time in office so far--Mayor Rocky Anderson has made Main Street a big priority--specifically trying to liven things up--and bring in new stores. Now--the city's got a new program aimed at that same goal.

To that end--the city's redevelopment authority is proposing a pilot project--designed to give retailers, restaurants and other small businesses a financial incentive to open up a downtown storefront.

It would pay up to 20-thousand dollars to entice a small business downtown. To qualify a company must be in existence four years; two of which were profitable. And the business must stay downtown for 3 years.
