(KSL News) A judge denied the request for early release from the former Copper Hills High School teacher who had sex with a student.

Melinda Deluca requested to be released from jail early and serve her remaining time on home confinement. Deluca claims the jail is unable to provide proper medical treatment for recent seizures and constant body tremors.

The judge denied the request saying he will not release her unless he is sure the jail can't care for her. He also said the original sentencing was too lenient.
Deluca is six weeks into her 90 day sentence.
