SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two men injured in a Monday morning shooting near the University of Utah are now dead, police reported on Wednesday.

Police discovered the victims while responding to a reported car crash. One of the victims was lying on the street, the other was inside a car, which had rolled into a parked vehicle. Both had been shot.

Jose R. Talancon, 21, and Jamie Nunez-Guitierrez, 31, died at a hospital on Tuesday night, Salt Lake City police spokesman Fred Louis said.

A third man, James Gary Vijil, 20, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head a few blocks from the other two later Monday morning.

The shootings may have been related, though police have yet to identify a motive or arrest any suspects.
