SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- When Utah's only afternoon newspaper switches to morning publication, the Deseret News will become the "Deseret Morning News."

The paper will change its title officially on March 31, the day it begins the switch to morning circulation. All editions are expected to be morning by June 9.

The Deseret News now publishes afternoon editions Monday through Friday and in the mornings Saturday and Sunday.

Editor John Hughes announced the name change to employees at the newspaper's awards banquet Wednesday night.
