SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Post offices in Utah will be open New Year's Eve but some will close at noon.

The U.S. Postal Service said Tuesday that mail will be delivered as usual on Thursday but items for delivery must be dropped off in blue collection mailboxes before noon for the day's pickup.

Post offices will be closed Friday for the New Year's Day holiday. Regular postal service resumes Saturday.

The retail hours and locations of all post offices are available online at usps.com.

Customers needing service after 12 noon on Thursday should contact their local post office for information on locations of post offices that will maintain normal retail hours and lobby collections. Find post office phone numbers at the Find a Post Office tool or by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS.
