(Salt Lake City- KSL TV) The Utah Legislature has agreed on a new budget. It's a $7.3 billion budget that includes a $9.1 million raid on the state's tobacco settlement fund.
The House and Senate earlier approved slightly different versions, but the House voted 46-to-29 Monday night to go along with the Senate.
The changes included giving a post-Olympic Winterfest celebration $25,000 as desired by the Senate, instead of the House's preference to reallocate the money for the state fair.
The budget plan does little for public schools. It raises per-pupil funding by $20, to $2,150 dollars a year.
