(Salt Lake City- KSL TV) A local new born baby is in critical condition this morning after being abandoned by its mother.
Police say the baby was found after the 18-year old mother began to hemmorage and called for medical help. She did not tell paramedics about the child when they arrived.
Medical crews eventually found the child in the bathroom -- not breathing. He was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital.
It is unknown if the mother will face charges in the case.
Any person can drop off a baby within 72 hours of its birth at a hospital with no criminal punishment under Utah law.
