(KSL TV) Of those soldiers stationed in the Gulf, thousands of them call Utah home. And that is having an enormous impact on some of the smaller communities in the state.

One third of the boys of last year's graduating class at Panguitch High were recently deployed to the Gulf.

Twins Matt and Mike Black will serve side by side.

Matt says, "There are six of us who have been best friends our whole life. It's going to be great spending a year together with them and serving our country."

While the families of those shipping out say that the absences are hard, they also say that sending off these soliders makes them appreciate their freedoms even more.
