(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The Utah Energy Office says gasoline prices in Utah may hit two dollars for a gallon of unleaded if the United States goes to war with Iraq.
The price in Utah reached a record high of one dollars and 69 cents this month, up 13 cents from February and 56 cents higher than a year ago. The price is one penny below the national average. Thomas Brill, director of the Utah Energy Office, says if war were to drag out considerably longer than about two weeks and much of the Iraq situation were to remain unresolved, there would be a premium on the price of oil.
