SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Police arrested a man they said robbed or attempted to rob several convenient stores Friday night.

Police said Darryl Lee Fox spent his Christmas night visiting stores across Salt Lake County. A clerk at a Tesoro at 1699 W. North Temple noticed Fox acting suspicious around 8:00, asked him to leave and called the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Police said he may have the casing the store.

Police said Fox then demanded money at Maverick near 700 East and 1700 South, but left with nothing. The store clerk was able to leave the store and call police.

Fox did get away with some money from a Tesoro at 2287 S. Highland Drive, but his spree ended when deputies with the Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit were able to locate his car and follow him.
