(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake City police say Elizabeth Smart had just returned to Utah when police found her disguised on a suburban street.

Police chief Rick Dinse says Smart and the two adults she was found with returned from San Diego to Salt Lake City by bus early Wednesday morning. She was found later that day after police were tipped that a suspect in her abduction may have been spotted on a Sandy street.

Dinse says Smart has been very helpful since police took her into custody yesterday. He says the 15-year-old told investigators she was taken from her bedroom by knifepoint and kept in a canyon near the Smart home for two months.
