LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A fundraising campaign is in the works for a Logan planetarium and science center.

Organizers affiliated with StarHouse Discovery Center say construction would take $5 million and five years.

They plan to hold the first fundraiser Tuesday at Logan's Whittier Community Center.

Organizers say Logan is ideal for a planetarium because it already has a Space Dynamics Lab at Utah Sate University, along with strong aerospace engineering programs. Residents have to travel 80 miles to visit a planetarium in Salt Lake City.
