Crowds going to see a modern rock band were confronted last night by a group of street preachers.
Sgt. David Thurgood/Salt Lake City Police Dept. :"THEY'RE HERE TRYING TO PREVENT THESE PEOPLE FROM GOING TO HELL...I BELIEVE."
The preachers stationed themselves outside of Club Escape where the band "Ministry" was going to perform.
Most of those going to the concert ignored the group, although some did argue with the protesters.
Lonnie Purcifull/Street Preacher:"WE'RE OUT HERE PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST...TRYING TO LET THESE YOUNG FOLKS THAT THINK THE WORLD'S FORGOTEN ABOUT THEM THAT MY JESUS LOVES THEM." No arrests were made. And, there were no injuries.
Police say the protesters are most likely in town for the LDS conference this weekend.
