(KSL TV) A Utah teen will be tried as an adult in the stabbing of two Nevada girls.
Monique Maestas, 16, may now face the death penalty for the January stabbing of three-year-old Kristyanna Cowan and her ten-year-old sister Brittney Bergeron, in Mesquite.
The younger girl died in that attack -- her sister is now paralyzed.
Maestas and her brother Beau allegedly stabbed the girls in retaliation for a drug deal involving their mother.
