(Hong Kong-AP) -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has temporarily stopped sending missionaries to Hong Kong as a precaution against SARS, and those already on the streets here are wearing masks and avoiding contact such as handshakes.

A spokesman for the church's mission in the territory says missionaries from Hong Kong also have been delaying plans to spread their message elsewhere.

None of Hong Kong's 30 thousand members of the church are known to have caught S-A-R-S, but they are being extra cautious amid the outbreak in Hong Kong that has sickened more than 14 hundred people and killed at least 99.
