(KSL TV) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be getting a large tax refund.
The Church recently discovered it has been paying property taxes for more than 40 years on land it doesn't even own.
The 160 acres on Utah Lake actually belong to the U.S. government. However, because of restrictions the Church will only get the back taxes for the last four years.
That amount will come to a little more than $2,000, if it's approved by the Utah County Commission next week.
