(Provo-AP) -- Provo police have arrested a man for a 1997 shooting death in a California motel room.
Mario Izarraga Ponce allegedly killed Jose Alvarez by shooting him several times in the head and stomach October 10th 1997. Ponce had been on the most-wanted list of the Stanislaus County, California, sheriff's department.
Ponce also had a felony warrant from the Fourth District Court for possession of methamphetamine, according to Provo police. Ponce was booked into the Utah County Jail with a 10-thousand dollar bail.
