Jill Atwood reportingWhat was to be a routine court hearing for a condemned convict, instead it turned into a wild and disruptive scene.

The convict was Roberto Arguelles. The hearing was to sign his death warrant and set an execution date.

Roberto Arguelles was absolutely out of control in the courtroom this morning, screaming obscenities at the judge and pulling out his final performance. Prison officials noted he has done this throughout the judicial process, but today Judge Burton saw right through him.

Arguelles had to be restrained and a hairnet was placed over his face because he frequently spits, and seems to have these uncontrolled choking attacks. Judge Burton tried to inform Arguelles what was happening, but Arguelles had to be removed from the courtroom several times, because he refused to settle down and listen.

This case goes way back. Arguelles admitted to brutally murdering four people back in 1992: Three teenage girls and a woman and then burying their bodies, which were later discovered in 1995. Argueles has fired all of his attorneys, and has been declared competent in two separate competency hearings..

Jack Ford/Department of Corrections: "THE CAPTAIN OF THE UNIT WILL WALK DOWN HE WILL ACT THIS WAY...AS SOON AS THE CAPTAIN LEAVES..THE OFFICERS IN THE CONTROL ROOM WILL WATCH AND HE WILL WALK AROUND AND TALK NORMALLY TO THE OTHER INMATES.,.THIS IS SORT OF HOW HE ACTS YEAH.."

Kent Morgan/Deputy District Attorney: "JUSTICE DELAYED FOR THE SAKE OF DELAYED DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANYBODY SO THAT'S WHY IT IS A COURAGEOUS RIGHT THING TO DO TODAY IS TO PROCEED WITH DEATH WARRANT AND THE EXECUTION HE DESERVES TO DIE FOR KILLING THOSE FOUR PEOPLE IN THE WAY HE KILLED THEM."

Kent Morgan went on to call him a truly evil person. Arguelles is scheduled to die by firing squad on June 27th. Troy Kell's death warrant was also signed last Monday he will also die by firing squad the day before, the 26th.
