Keith McCord Reporting...Tomorrow has been designated as "National Tourism Appreciation Day." And to celebrate it, the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau has come up with a special deal. All you have to do, is go to the Bureau’s website, and print out a ticket to five different places you can go, absolutely free!

"WE THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO REMIND PEOPLE OF WHAT WE DO HAVE IN SALT LAKE, AND WHAT THEY TRULY HAVE IN THEIR OWN BACKYARD."

That's what the convention and visitors bureau is calling tomorrow's promotion: "Be a Tourist in your Own Backyard".

It's also an effort to entice people to visit a place they haven't been to before.

The attractions that are cooperating with the promotion: Hogle Zoo, The Children’s Museum of Utah, Red Butte Garden, Kennecott’s Bingham Canyon Mine and Tracy Aviary – one of only two public aviaries in the country.

Holly Seitz/Tracy Aviary: "SO THE TRACY AVIARY IS SOMETHING REALLY UNIQUE FOR THE SALT LAKE COMMUNITY TO HAVE. AND WE ARE EXCITED TO SHOW IT OFF."

These Salt Lake County attractions generate about two billion dollars a year from visitors. With the summer tourist season just about ready to kick into gear, the zoo, the aviary and the others are ready for people to come and see -- then, spread the word to others!

Stacey Phillips/Hogle Zoo: "I'M VERY EXCITED WE WILL HAVE A BIG CROWD ON SATURDAY. AND THEY WILL GET THE CHANCE TO LOOK AT THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED AT THE ZOO, AND THEY'LL GET A CHANCE TO ENJOY ONE OF THE TREASURES OF SALT LAKE."

Holly Seitz/Tracy Aviary: "IT'S WONDERFUL EXPOSURE FOR US. WE DON'T HAVE VERY MUCH OF AN ADVERTISING BUDGET TO WORK WITH, AND SO WE RELY ON THE COMMUNITY TO HELP GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT US."

The visitors bureau started this promotion on it's website on May 1st, and as of a few minutes ago -- more than 54-thousand of these free tickets have been printed!
