SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A skier was killed at the Alta ski resort Saturday afternoon after taking a long fall.
The man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was apparently skiing alone and took a jump or fall off a cliff at the closed resort and died from injuries sustained in the fall, a spokeswoman for the Alta Town Marshall's office said.
His body was recovered by Wasatch Backcountry Rescue. The victim has not yet been identified.
